Projects

The Center currently has three active projects.

Eternal Flames: Living Memories of the Pacific War links researchers, students, and those who experienced WWII to shape a multinational, multilingual view of the conflict. “Eternal Flames” will integrate the features of a web-based digital archive, an interactive “wiki,” and an online forum. It will provide unprecedented large-scale linking and translation of a wide range of historical documents

The Okinawa Peace Memorial Park Project explores the spatial and temporal transformations of a massive memorial complex in southern Okinawa.

The Charles Gail Collection project is a collaborative social history, centered on a set of photographs of Okinawa taken by an American serviceman stationed there in 1951.
